Get A Competition Licence
So the bug has bitten hard and you’re now looking to get more involved? Some events require a Motorsport Nz Competition Licence to compete

No Licence
There are plenty of Clubsport Basic events you can enter that don’t require a competition licence (but you do need to be a paid up Manawatu Car Club member).
Some such events are:
- Single Car Sprints (Track Days runs where you are sent out on track 10 seconds apart from any other car)
- Autocross
- Motorkhana
- Trials
Club Sport Advanced (M Grade) Licence
Required if you intend to compete in next level Car Club run events such as:
- Dual Car Sprints (Track Race Days, heats where you are sent out at the same time as another car)
- Bent Sprints
- Hill climbs
- Rallysprints
- Drifting
National Race (C Grade) Licence
Required if you intend to compete in local, regional or national circuit race events on established tarmac tracks. Locally this licence is required if you would like to enter and compete in any of the following classes run by the Car Club presently:
- Summer Series (all classes)
- Winter Series (all classes
National Rally (R Grade) Licence
Required if you intend to compete in local, regional or national rally events on closed public roads in an appropriately homologated rally or rallycross car. Locally this licence is required if you would like to enter and compete in any of the following classes run by the Car Club presently:
- Regional/national level rally events
- Gravel hill climbs
